Frequently Asked Questions

Tutoring

My scheduled tutoring is on Tuesday & Thursday after school from 2:30 - 3:00. I will also make my time and classroom available for students that just need a place to do homework for my class. I do not open my class up at lunch for tutoring.

(note to students)
Unfortunately, I can not let it be a place to "hang out" after school.  It is too distracting for the students that need help with their work

Daily Supplies

  • Chromebook
  • Agenda
  • Earbuds or headphone
  • A notebook (8 1/2 x 11 lined paper)
  • Pencils and pens
  • A reading book

The Hall Pass

  • You get 3 Hall Passes per trimester
  • Use them wisely

Criteria for Participation in the End of the Year Activities (currently)

In an effort to help middle school students be more successful in middle school, to help them develop and maintain good study habits and focus, and to provide a more structured transition from elementary school t high school, the criteria for participation in end-of-year activities are listed below:

  • Maintain a minimum of a 2.00 cumulative GPA
  • Receive no more than 10 days of ISS/OSS combined
  • Receive no referral resulting in ISS/OSS within 30 days of the events (exclusion list)

GPA is determined by averaging Trimester 1, Trimester 2 and Hexmester 5 (Progress Report) grades together.  All subject areas will calculate into GPA.

End-of-year activities include (but are not limited to):

  • Grade Level Trip
  • Honor Awards for those that maintain certain grades
  • Promotion (8th Grade)
  • Other activities not listed here

Water Fountain in the Classroom

Two "rules"
  • One person at a time at the fountain
  • Do not get a drink if I am talking to the class.

Extra Credit

I do not give extra credit to individuals.  However, I sometimes offer it to ALL students from time to time.  Your grade will not suffer if you do the work that is assigned to you.
